Wednesday already. Where do I begin?

Here it is.  Another cold, damp, grey day.  I could just cover a canvas with grey and call it "Richmond in the fog".  I need a little motivation.  Where is my muse when I need him.

Sometimes I wonder what the heck I'm doing, "Walking a fine line", oil, 36 x 24

Why did I paint this? I had to. It was in my head...."The Manipulator" oil, 30x15

Messy studio I came back to.

A NEW YEAR, A NEW OPORTUNITY!

I hate New Year's Resolutions.  They're usually kept about a week.  But I have found I like painting better than I like running a gallery.   These last 5 years have given me a whole new perspective on the "business of art".  I won't complain any more about gallery commissions.  They earn it if they're doing their job.  I'll be better about listening when the gallery tells me what sells there, and why they want some consistency.  Don't get me wrong.  I have loved meeting all the people, both the artists and the patrons.  It's just there is a time for everything and now I feel it's my time to paint, again.
